This elegant and timeless Joshua Tree Elopement will forever be very so special to me. The couple, Carla and Pierre, came all the way from LONDON – I am truly still so blown away!!!
Throughout the planning process I learned that they had been dating for over ten years and decided they wanted to come to explore California to say “I Do”. I can’t imagine anything more romantic than traveling over 5,000 miles to a dream destination to start a new chapter with the love of your life.
The bride had found me on Instagram through a post I had tagged a Palm Springs hotel (Ace Hotel) in. She told me she and her fiancé were looking for something exactly just like I had posted (a different wedding at the same hotel they wanted to get ready at) so it was perfect, and truly meant to be. I still struggle to wrap my head around how my work can reach couples all around the world!
THE BEGINNING OF THEIR FOREVER
P + C’s day started so intimately and effortlessly! A soft tune of a Spotify playlist was playing in the background full of songs that their friends and family had created for this very special day. While getting ready a new song would pop on and they would flip open a little booklet to see which friend or family member had added the song onto the playlist for them to enjoy. It was the sweetest thing to listen to, knowing that even though their loved ones weren’t physically here, they were here within the music. Setting the mood for the most special day we were about to experience.
Our spirits were high, love was in the air, and we were getting to get P + C married!
CRUISING THROUGH PALM SPRINGS IN LUXURY
A timeless and editorial inspired look brought to life!
We started our morning off at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. Here, P + C snuggled and enjoyed each other’s company on the last day of being each others fiancés. While here we snuck into the King’s Highway Diner to do a very fun and non traditional “cake cutting” to celebrate. Carla and Pierre put a super fun and personal spin on it! Queue the donuts, and a super cute vintage diner.
One of the main stars of the show was a gorgeous, vintage convertible. P had the idea to rent a vintage car and came across this Mercedes they had ended up renting to drive to Joshua Tree in. How beyond stunning to ride in this gorgeous car, wedding dress on, and hair blowing in the wind on your way to marry your best friend.
From the sleek look of their wedding attire, to the vintage feel of the turquoise Mercedes car, I was jaw-dropped and so eager to get them married!
HAPPILY EVER AFTER AT THEIR JOSHUA TREE ELOPEMENT
Their Joshua Tree Elopement ceremony was so heartfelt and elegant. I was in love!
They had chosen to say their “I do’s” at Cap Rock. Without a doubt, this was the absolute best spot for them to hold their elopement at within Joshua Tree National Park. They couldn’t have picked a more fitting location for them based off the vibe they wanted. The spot at Cap Rock had the most stunning back drop of the rocks, and the gorgeous view ahead of Joshua Trees for miles.
They were snuggled into a little nook between the rocks and an infamous Joshua Tree on either side of them which made it feel so intimate. During the ceremony, they had read their own written heart throbbing vows to each other. Giggles were heard, tears were shed, and the “I do” came before we knew it.
“You are my sun, my moon, and all my stars.” – Pierre
POP SOME CHAMPAGNE – IT’S A CELEBRATION
After the big kiss, the celebration began!
We popped a bottle of champagne and celebrated the newly married couple. We then started by taking photos with the car. The best part was Pierre had spent hours making a just married sign to hang on the back of the car. The biggest kick was it had Budweiser beer cans hanging from the back dangling around with the American flag and freedom on them. I thought it was absolutely hilarious as they are from the UK.
YOU’RE MY GOLDEN HOUR
I am so beyond honored to have been chosen to capture their Joshua Tree Elopement. They were the sweetest most genuine couple, and I truly felt as if I was taking photos of long lost friends.
It still baffles me that they were able to find me all the way in London, and pick me to come alongside them for the most intimate day of their lives, and be the only witness of their marriage. I was even the one to sign the marriage license. Tears, actually tears are being shed!
I am just so unbelievably grateful for the friends I have made that now live over 5,000 miles away.
